This Wednesday on Bonanza & Son on ResonanceFM

Bonanza & Son on ResonanceFM
Wednesday 19th February 2014 4:30pm (UK Time)

Live session:
Troubadour Rose/Sugar Magnolia:

On the run up to Sugar Magnolia's gig at Aces & Eights this Saturday 22nd and Troubadour Rose gig the following Thursday at The Lock Tavern we have a live session by their main lady Bryony.

Critically acclaimed album 'Find An Arrow' has taken the UK Americana scene by storm 'with its hook-laden songs and sumptuous vocals that make London roots band Troubadour Rose’ debut a surefire winner’ but don’t take our word for it as that’s what The Guardian said recently.

The band are an intersting and intriguing melange of diverse influences and backgrounds with Barnsley born lass Bryony being one of the sweetest songbirds we have heard in a long time. Bryony is also one half of girl-boy duo Sugar Magnolia.

Ok so here’s the plan take a test tube and mix equal parts from two signed acts like Clubhouse Records Troubadour Rose and Bucketfull Of Brains Jack Day. Add a bit of romance, a recent marriage proposal and a heap of sexy Neo-F*ck-Folk and you’ll be left with Sugar Magnolia.

It’s all a strange and thrilling mix that you can’t quite put your finger on; smokey mountain harmonies, Fleetwood Mac, Irish Sessions, Nanci Griffith, bold and emotive melodies, even a little PJ Harvey…
