Latest artwork for Countrier Than Thou at The Lock Tavern

I used an original photograph of 'The Star Spangled Banner' that was sown to Peter Fonda's Jacket in the film 'Easy Rider' juxtaposed with images from 'The Joshua Tree National Park' close to where Gram Parsons spent his final days in Southeastern California.

Manassas out-take

Tan Sola Y Trieste is a beautiful, alternative version of 'Pensamiento' by Stephen Stills' Manassas... I wish they'd recorded a longer version of this... The album version of Pensamiento on Manassas second LP 'Down The Road' from 1973 isn't anything like as bright and punchy as this shorter, instrumental version.

Justin Townes Earl+ The Delines live on this weeks show...

This week's Bonanza & Son on Resonance 104.4fm is now available to listen 'on demand'...

A live session and interview from The Delines recorded earlier in the year in situ prior to their sell-out gig at The Lexington in June. Something of a super group featuring members of The Decemberists, The Damnations Tx and Richmond Fontaine including chief songwriter and critically acclaimed author Willy Vlautin whose debut novel, 'The Motel Life' was adapted into a film (The Motel Life) starring Stephen Dorff, Dakota Fanning, Emile Hirsch and Kris Kristofferson.
The Deline's debut album 'Colfax' is a consummate work of intense beauty and is finding its way to the top of many critics album lists of 2014. Last night following their live session The Delines played a sold-out Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen in London as part of a world tour that has taken them as far afield as Australia.

Plus Bonanza & Son showcases the best of all the brand new and upcoming Americana releases including not one but two other potential albums of the year in the shape of the newly released LP's from Margrethe Björklund and Sylvie Simmons.

Maggie Bjorklund-'Shaken' on Bloodshot Records sees Jack White's favourite Danish, Pedal steel player create a genuinely beautiful and sumptuous chocolate cake-rich LP that seamlessly blends sounds and genres such as Americana and Psych to induce an emotive state more akin to a cinematic experience than the dimension of music alone.

Critically acclaimed Leonard Cohen/@Neil Neil Young biographer and ace rock journalist Sylvie Simmons now has her own debut LP released by the über-cool 'Light In The Attic Records' label. Simply entitled 'Sylvie' the LP is as sumptuous, tender and genuinely as beautiful as a freshly blooming flower in spring. Armed only with her trusty Ukelele, delicate voice and poetry-strong songs Sylvie beguiles and delights all that are in the house and those on the bus too! Sylvie will be live in session on the show Wednesday 3rd December.

Plus brand new tracks from the second part of Justin Townes Earle's new double release 'Single Mothers/Absent Fathers' plus new albums from Chip Taylor, Good Luck Mountain, Wild Ponies, Cale Tyson as well as lots of old vinyl that we've picked up of late including Pete Drake

Latest 'On Demand' radio broadcast from Bonanza & Son on ResonanceFM

Bonanza & Son don't recall having a show so rammed with quality records as last week's broadcast; the Chip Taylor is mind blowing and The Christian Lee Hutson LP is already a contender for best album of next year.
Not only that but we had a live session from progressive, Folk guitar maestro George Frakes on the run up to his appearance at Countrier Than Thou at The Lock Tavern, Camden London alongside The Fruitful Earth.

Brand new tracks include Chip Taylor, Justin Townes Earle Cale Tyson, Christian Lee Hutson, Parker Millsap, The Dreaming Spires, Good Luck Mountain plus brand new retrospectives from Flatt & Scruggs and dusty old vinyl from the Bonanza & Son archives including Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Chris Gantry, New Riders of the Purple Sage and Happy Traum.
Plus something from The Handsome Family on the run up to their show at Islington Assembly Hall where Bonanza & Son will be guest djs.

Bonanza & Son on ResonanceFM live every Wednesday at 4:30pm (UK time) on 104.4FM in London or anywhere on www.resonancefm.com
