Bonanza & Son on ResonanceFM
Dana Immanuel & The Stolen Band live session and interview
+ interview with Denny Tedesco producer & Director of The Wrecking Crew.

Today we talk to Denny Tedesco son of Tommy Tedesco a guitarist of the legendary Wrecking Crew, a group of LA session musicians who played on some of the greatest recording sessions of all time including Beach Boys, Glen Campbell, The Byrds and so so many others.

The Wrecking Crew, by Denny Tedesco is a film documenting The Wrecking Crew's amazing 'must-hear' story and quite frankly this film will change the way you look and listen to modern music forever.

It's gonna be a great show because we also have a live session from Dana Immanuel & The Stolen Band:

A very welcome return for the high priestess of Dark-Country Noir the day before Dana and her band perform at Countrier Than Thou at The Lock Tavern in Camden.

If you haven't seen Denny's film The Wrecking Crew now is your chance as it is showing at the following UK cinemas in June and July:

Jim Sullivan's self titled LP from 1972

I can't quite believe it but earlier today Bonanza & Son took delivery of this sealed copy of the rare as rocking horse semen follow-up to Jim Sullivan's UFO album.

This self-titled follow-up was rather bizarrely released on the Playboy label back in 1972.

The UFO album from 1969 was a small, private release on the Monnie label. It was then remixed and re-released a year later on the Century City Records label in 1970 and finally re-released a couple of years ago on the Light in the Attic label.

The Playboy record features two songs re-worked from UFO. There is an RCA single 'Highways' which is also a re-recording from UFO although the B side is only available on the single).

The Playboy Lp contains two covers, one of a John Stewart song and one penned by R.B. Greaves with the remaining seven tracks being completely original material.

Unfortunately anything resembling success eluded Sullivan and by 1975, completely disillusioned, he left L.A. for Nashville to look for session work.
However he never arrived in Music City. His car was found seemingly abandoned by the side of the desert highway with Sullivan completely vanished into the desert of the southwest without a trace never to be seen or heard of again!.. His disappearance, as mysterious as any UFO tale, has never been explained.

I haven't had the balls to open this new acquisition being that it has remained unopened, unplayed and untouched for some 43 years!!! Maybe I'll treat myself later this evening!

You can listen to the whole album here...

Last week's radio show...

Bonanza & Son on ResonanceFM
Wednesday 27th May 2015

Jeremiah Sammartano and Dan Beaulaurier join us in the studio to talk about their short UK tour including a performance at our Countrier Than Thou night at The Lock Tavern Camden, London...

Jermiah and Dan also perform some of their fine songs for our aural pleasure... Full details below...

Jeremiah Sammartano
It's not often Bonanza & Son book a genuine member of the Navajo nation but today we have Los Angeles based, Emmy nominated Native American singer/songwriter Sammartano and with songs titled '100 Miles To Memphis' and' 'Townes, Jesus & Me' you just know you are getting the real deal.

Jeremiah has covered many dusty raod miles over the past several years spreading music influenced by the raw blues of Charley Patton, the lyrical and often raucous sounds of The Pogues, the twang of Willie Nelson and some vintage rock and roll - "Delta Blues and Twangy Grooves" - from Los Angeles outward through the Southwest, Austin, St. Louis, Nashville (where he relocated for a spell in 2008-2009), Chicago with Jeremiah sharing stages with Willie Nelson, Southern Culture On The Skids, David Olney, Mike Stinson, SHURMAN to name just a few... In Spring 2011 Jeremiah received an Emmy nomination for writing music for the documentary, 'Prison Through Tomorrow's Eyes'. Jeremiah has three albums under his gun belt- 'Red Eyed And Restless' , 2010's 'Under Your Spell' and most recently a 10 song album called 'HOME' . .. Not to be missed.

+Dan Beaulaurier:
Bay Area Cosmic cat Dan Beaulaurier from Frisco brings his sun-drencherd Americana to warm your Country-Soul.

Ex of Norton Money now with a debut solo LP 'Car Pizza’ which was an album of consummate, songwriting beauty. A multi layered album that shows Dan’s immense talent as a songwriter with smooth ballads sitting pretty next to Psychedelic guitar rockers that bring to mind elements of The Meat Puppets or even a mellower Husker Du and the best of the Paisley Underground as well as the bohemian credibility of Richard Buckner. Dan's recent live performances following the release of the album have been mindblowing and his full band line up is not to be missed which includes members of everybody's favourites Hallelujah Trails.
